Hedychium densiflorum Assam Orange Ilex As with all Arum italicumHedychium densiflorum 'Assam Orange' is a selected clone from the original 1938 collection of Hedychium densiflorum, made by plant collector Frank Kingdom Ward at 6,500' elevation in Assam, India. Hedychium 'Assam Orange' was subsequently awarded an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticulture Society. In the garden, Hedychium 'Assam Orange' makes a short (by ginger standards) 3' clump topped, starting in mid summer and again in late summer, with
